Events Coordinator
Location: Remote
Primary responsibilities include:

Establishing and maintaining a working relationship with vendors and venues;

Planning event aspects, such as venue, seating, dining, and guest list;

Attentive to the value of staying under budget while planning event specifications;

Working with the CFO to issue invoices and collecting payments in a timely manner, and creating comprehensive and readable financial reports;

Managing and overseeing events on the day of, including problem-solving, welcoming attendees, directing event set-up, organizing vendors, and managing take-down;

Communicating with the communications team to create effective advertisements for each event;

Assess an event’s overall success with senior leadership.
Qualifications:

An orientation toward superb customer service;

Excellent oral and verbal communication skills;

Computer literacy and experience with Google Drive. Willingness to learn other platforms, like Slack;

Outstanding organizational and time management skills;
-
Commitment to empowering teachers and school administrators by elevating their voices and bringing to attention their efforts to support students and advance the education sector;
-
Enthusiasm to learn and grow.
Commitment Expected:
While Acorn appreciates anytime that a volunteer is willing to give, for this position we would like to see someone willing to commit at least 3-8 hours a week for 3 months.
