Grant Writer
Location: Remote
Primary responsibilities include:

Grant and report writer for all Acorn funding;

Maintain Acorn’s grant application calendar, including submission and reporting deadlines, to be used for applying for and reporting on grants;

Maintain filing system for maintaining funding records;

Manage and monitor grant applications, follow-up, and reports;

Develop grant administration procedures;

In collaboration with the CEO and CFO, update standard proposal language as needed;

Monitor and report on grant program goals and performance;

Coordinate with the CFO to assure that all necessary records are accurate and available for reconciliation and auditing.
Qualifications:

Knowledge of grants and grant administration processes and budgeting;

Excellent written skills with demonstrated ability to write in a clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive manner. Grant writing experience preferred;

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff, consultants, partners, funders, Board Members, and other volunteers to achieve results;

Outstanding organizational, project management, time management, and communication skills;

Computer literacy and experience with Google Drive. Willingness to learn other platforms, like Slack;

Commitment to empowering teachers and school administrators by elevating their voices and bringing to attention their efforts to support students and advance the education sector;

Enthusiasm to learn and grow.
Commitment Expected:
While Acorn appreciates anytime that a volunteer is willing to give, for this position we would like to see someone willing to commit at least 3-8 hours a week for 3 months.
