Director of Marketing

Location: Remote

Primary responsibilities include: 

  • Execute a results-driven marketing strategy;

  • Develop strategies and tactics to boost Acorn's reputation and drive qualified traffic;

  • Deploy successful marketing campaigns from ideation to execution;

  • Maintain a unified brand voice across all media channels;

  • Partner with internal teams to understand target audiences

  • Identify and develop appropriate audiences for earned, owned and paid social campaigns

  • Follow SEO best practices to reach target audiences

  • Test and analyze data sets for reaching target audiences

  • Responsible for growth targets in reach, retention, and revenue

  • Presenting results of monthly content optimization tests to the team


  • Commitment to empowering teachers and school administrators by elevating their voices and bringing to attention their efforts to support students and advance the education sector;

  • Professional Experience in Marketing (either as a MBA student or a Bachelors with 1+ year of professional experience)

  • Verifiable history in driving organic & paid audience growth on social media

  • Passion for and experience in social media marketing campaign implementation;

  • Knowledge of website analytics tools (Google Analytics, NetInsight, Webtrends, etc.);

  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement;

  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills;

  • Detail-oriented approach with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;

  • Enthusiasm to learn and grow.

Commitment Expected:

While Acorn appreciates anytime that a volunteer is willing to give, for this position we would like to see someone willing to commit at least 3-8 hours a week for 4 months.
