Social Media Coordinator

Location: Remote

Primary responsibilities include: 

  • Execute a results-driven social media strategy;

  • Develop and curate engaging content for all of Acorn’s social media platforms;

  • Assist in creating and editing written, photo, and video content;

  • Maintain a unified brand voice across all social media channels;

  • Collaborate with the COO and CEO to create a social media calendar; 

  • Monitor social media channels for industry trends;

  • Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments, with the assistance of the communications team;

  • Review platform analytics and create reports on key metrics;

  • Assist in the development and management of a social media marketing strategy.


  • Passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms;

  • Strong copy-writing and copy-editing skills;

  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills;

  • Computer literacy and experience with Google Drive.

  • Willingness to learn other platforms, like Slack;

  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills;

  • Detail-oriented approach with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;

  • Commitment to empowering teachers and school administrators by elevating their voices and bringing to attention their efforts to support students and advance the education sector;

  • Enthusiasm to learn and grow.

Commitment Expected:

While Acorn appreciates anytime that a volunteer is willing to give, for this position we would like to see someone willing to commit at least 3-8 hours a week for 3 months.
